A536 Congleton Link Road

A536 Congleton Link Road

The project (now named Wolstenholme Elmy Way) involved construction of a 5.7km bypass with eight new roundabout junctions linking the A534 Sandbach Road with the A536 Macclesfield Road. As the borough’s largest infrastructure project to date, the link road scheme is a cornerstone of Cheshire East Council Local Plan Strategy, supporting the Council in achieving their objective of spurring local growth and regeneration by reducing traffic congestion and improving journey time reliability.

The WeBid team were involved in an initial ‘Win Theme’s workshop with our client to identify their USP’s, capability and experience which would set them apart from their competitors. Throughout the tender period our writers were based at the client’s office in Leeds, enabling close collaboration with subject matter experts who supported development of an outstanding bid submission for this complex scheme.

With extensive environmental and sustainability requirements, WeBid developed a targeted and branded initiative, ‘Journey to Congleton’ to promote a suite of proposals which would enable our client to monitor and measure their environmental performance through meaningful KPI’s, with progress reviewed against contract objectives. This scored extremely highly during tender evaluation. In addition to tailoring winning quality responses, we developed 4D animations and phasing plans to further support our client in successfully securing this project.
