Site Preparation and Clearance Works, Wylfa Nuclear Power Station

Site Preparation and Clearance Works, Wylfa Nuclear Power Station

The project involved site preparation and clearance across 738 acres of land to facilitate construction of a new Nuclear Power Station on the site at Wylfa. The scope of works included construction of boundary fencing, formation of storage and compound areas and road crossings, demolition of several buildings and other on-site structures and clearing away trees and vegetation. The site is on land adjacent to the existing Magnox Nuclear Power Station, which ceased operation at the end of 2015 and has now been decommissioned. With extensive environmental restrictions, and legal challenge from campaigners, works were planned to minimise the impact on local communities and the environment as much as possible.
