Sellafield Limited - Infrastructure Delivery Partnership (IDP)

Sellafield Limited - Infrastructure Delivery Partnership (IDP)

Sellafield Ltd is the company responsible for safely delivering decommissioning of the UK’s nuclear legacy as well as fuel recycling and the management of low, high, and intermediate level nuclear waste activates at Sellafield on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority. It is home to 4 of the biggest nuclear risks and hazards in Europe. The Sellafield site has been in operation since the 1940’s, when it was used as a Royal Ordnance factory. The site is also home to the world’s first commercial nuclear power station, Calder Hall. More recently the focus of work on the site has changed towards environmental remediation as the remaining processing work is completed and plans for waste retrievals are implemented to reduce the hazard and risk profile presented by the site.

IDP will be the contract to deliver conventional infrastructure projects and tasks on the Sellafield site in West Cumbria. To ensure that the Sellafield Ltd infrastructure network continues to operate reliably and support the mission, Sellafield Ltd is looking to place contracts to deliver continued project and task work from inception, design, construction through to commissioning. These contracts collectively constitute the IDP.

WeBid collaborated closely with our client to produce a comprehensive bid aimed at securing the role Electrical and Distribution Partner. Our scope encompassed various work packages including detailed design related to improving both high and low voltage electrical distribution networks.

Previously, we have successfully secured our client as a partner on the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) where they are being recognised for their valuable contribution. Drawing from this prior experience working alongside this client, we possess a deep understanding of Sellafield’s distinctive site constraints, environmental considerations, and overarching aspirations. This familiarity enabled us to precisely pinpoint these factors to customise our response accordingly. Additionally, we managed the competitive dialogue sessions with our client to present to Sellafield. We successfully managed the entire bid from our Sheffield office with regular face to face and Teams meetings to work closely with our client and create a submission that truly excelled.
