Aggregate Industries Acquires Land Recovery: Strengthening the CDM Market

Aggregate Industries Acquires Land Recovery: Strengthening the CDM Market

Aggregate Industries UK, a member of the Holcim Group, has acquired Land Recovery. This acquisition is set to enhance Aggregate Industries' capabilities and support its growth strategy within the UK.

Founded in 1982, Land Recovery has established itself as a leading supplier of primary and recycled construction materials. The company specialises in the supply and recycling of construction and demolition materials, including primary rail ballast. Land Recovery handles and treats spent ballast, recycling a portion of it into new products for the rail network or integrating it back into the value chain for use in products such as readymix, precast concrete, and asphalt.

This acquisition aligns with Aggregate Industries' strategy to expand its footprint in the CDM market. By integrating Land Recovery’s operations, Aggregate Industries aims to leverage synergies and enhance its service offerings. Land Recovery’s expertise in recycling and material handling complements Aggregate Industries' commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Land Recovery operates four sites across the UK, with its main operations base in Stoke-on-Trent. This site conducts the majority of the company’s business activities. Additionally, Land Recovery has a rail yard site in Dewsbury (West Yorkshire) and quayside sites in Lowestoft (Suffolk) and Ellesmere Port (Cheshire). The acquisition will see Aggregate Industries integrating these sites into its operational framework, providing a broader geographical reach and enhanced logistical capabilities.

Land Recovery employs 85 people and 18 contractors, all of whom bring valuable expertise and experience to Aggregate Industries. This acquisition not only expands Aggregate Industries' workforce but also enriches its talent pool, driving innovation and operational excellence in the CDM market.

The integration of Land Recovery into Aggregate Industries' operations is expected to yield significant benefits. By combining resources and expertise, the companies aim to drive sustainable growth and enhance their market position. This acquisition underscores Aggregate Industries' commitment to sustainability, with a focus on recycling and efficient material use.

The acquisition of Land Recovery by Aggregate Industries marks a significant milestone in the CDM market. This strategic move will enhance Aggregate Industries' capabilities, expand its market reach, and support its growth strategy in the UK. With a shared commitment to sustainability and innovation, the combined entity is poised to lead the way in the construction and demolition materials sector, delivering value-added solutions to its customers.
